The historical origins of the Egyptian five-pointed star have never been satisfactorily explained.
The fact that virtually identical five-pointed stars were a ubiquitous feature in Mesoamerican religious iconography strongly suggests that some hitherto unidentified star or constellation served as the celestial referent for both traditions. That much seems obvious.
Less obvious is how to explain the inner red core of the five-pointed star. Presented here is the evidence that points to this inner red core as a delineation of the planet Mars.
