Astrophysicists frequently use the phrase ‘magnetic reconnection’ to explain some phenomenon they see in space, but they’re unnecessarily reinventing the wheel.
Coronal Mass Ejections and Solar Flares occur when the Sun ejects large amounts of plasma. The experts hypothesized the existence of a previously unknown property of magnetic fields—they named it magnetic reconnection—even though Hannes Alfvén’s exploding plasma layers had already been discovered and published. Perhaps the reason for this reinvention was to give astrophysicists an explanation to avoid acknowledging the effects or existence of electric currents in space. Author and electrical engineer Donald E. Scott, PhD, calls out that the false proposition of magnetic reconnection is intentional ignorance of well-known scientific discoveries of Alfvén and Irving Langmuir—both Nobel Laureates—that is either professional incompetence or lack of ethical behavior.
