The Thunderbolts Project—Retrospect and Prospect
Over the past 12 months, we’ve enjoyed a net gain of more than 17,000 subscribers to The Thunderbolts Project YouTube Channel. For perspective on this statistic, in 2012 we had a total of 3,000 subscribers acquired over the previous three years. Today we have more than 74,000 subscribers to our Channel, and we recently surpassed 13 million aggregate views of our videos. It’s fair to say we’ve even surprised ourselves!
Thanks to the tireless work of our volunteer Communication Director Susan Schirott, we now have over 15 thousand people following The Thunderbolts Project on Facebook. Virtually the entire group signed up in just the past three years. And if we include the numbers of people following other “Electric Universe” pages and groups on Facebook, the figure is significantly higher than that.
We will, of course, have another annual conference next year. EU2017 is scheduledfor the Phoenix area again, August 17-20 at the Sheraton Mesa Wrigleyville (same location as last year). We’ve also added another day to the event to accommodate the growing interest.
One of the high points will be a special “Velikovsky Day.” This full-day event will bring together the best available witnesses to the impact of Immanuel Velikovsky’s work. The moderator will be William Mullen, retired professor of Classics, Bard College, with whom we’ve worked since the publication of the Pensée magazine series “Velikovsky Reconsidered” from 1972 to 1974. Look for details on EU2017 in January.
