Evidently the EU/PC community has recently lost one of it's most public antagonists. I've bumped heads with Jean/Nereid on a number of different forums over the past 15 years, under several different handles (Nereid/Jean Tate/Dierendopa, etc.) I can't say I was a huge fan of his public antagonism of EU/PC theory, but I think he was one of the better communicators from that side of the aisle.

My condolences to his family.

This was not news that I wanted to wake up to this morning. What a brilliant and prolific mind to have dialoged with. RIP Nereid.
"Our laws of force tend to be applied in the Newtonian sense in that for every action there is an equal reaction, and yet, in the real world, where many-body gravitational effects or electrodynamic actions prevail, we do not have every action paired with an equal reaction." — Harold Aspden

With the exception of Tim Thompson, I can't think of anyone who taught me more about astronomy, or forced me to think my beliefs through and present them clearly. I'll miss Nereid. Rest in peace.
