Back at the Elegant Simplicity conference in 16 I had the chance to talk Wal and few of the Thunderbolts crew. I wanted to help, and Wal and I discussed ways to help spread the message, he agreed he'd love if someone could do some sci-fi, and I volunteered. He was generous enough to do a few interviews with me so I could pick his brain as I began to world-build. I'd never written a novel, but I was a D&D nerd growing up who designed and ran game servers, and I come from geek culture. I know when fans like me are into something, we want to know how it works and do a deep dive into the lore. If we could capture that in an electric Universe setting, we could inspire a generation of young adults to take an interest in the EU model; and some of them would go on to be tomorrow's space scientists, and finally challenge this sleepy big bang golem.
I set to work. For the next several years I've been like a man possessed, learning a millions skill and discovering talents I didn't know I possessed. When I submitted my rough to the Thunderbolts crew, they kindly invited me to narrate some videos. Turned out to be great practice for my book, so I went back once again and revised a little, but now the work is finally finished. So with great trepidation, but also pride, I present to you, the Breath of Life. Book one in my Aquarian Cycle series.
First and foremost this is an audio series meant to be listened to, but the transcript is for sale like any other book. I'm trying to figure out a way to make sure if you purchase one, you also get the other, but I won't know how until the book finishes the review process and goes up for sale; sometime within the next 24 hours most likely. I published 48 hours ago.
This is where I'm going to ask a favor of you all since you're my brothers and sisters in this fight to return physics to sanity. I don't know if my story is going to appeal to many of you; I expect most people in these forums are a good deal smarter than I am, and this book, in the end, is an adventure story that I hope appeals to young adults that are into dungeons and dragons novels or Game of Thrones, that sort; but I hope you'll help support the cause and pick up a copy for $4.99 on Kindle. I'll post a link when it goes live.
If enough Thunderbolts people help give my work an early spike in popularity on the charts, then just maybe this story can spread out to regular people and start igniting imaginations...
If you enjoy my bad jokes and corny narration or just want to help the cause, please pick up a copy on Kindle, because if it bombs, my wife will probably physically kill me. But if audiobooks aren't your thing, you can still help by leaving good reviews on Youtube where I"ll post a couple of chapters, telling a friend who does like sci-fi, or else Amazon reviews to help gin up some momentum for it. I'm really going to need help with that because the resident trolls are already trying to review bomb my 2 rough draft chapters on Youtube. Once they find out this puppy has dropped, they'll probably call in the whole gang of professors to wreck the place up.
My mission is to see Wal Thornhill and the Thunderbolts pioneers get the recognition they deserve, and it is my sincere opinion that if you really want the public to get behind something; first you must entertain them with it. When they're being entertained, their normal biases are suspended. Heck, that's how Hollyweird got us. So let's fight fire with fire and help spread the message.
Cheers,
Matt Finn
