Re: Awesome magnetic motor
okay, i'm going to try to duplicate this gadget.
i've got (20) 1/8" x 3/16" cylinder neo-magnets.
i ordered (3) penny-shaped magnets with holes in the center (ring magnets) that are magnetized 'diametrically' (not top and bottom but side to side), and (2) ring magnets that are axially magnetized (top and bottom).
they gave no specs for the magnets in the vid, so i had to guess.
a lot of these 'inventions' seem to be copies of deep-think intellectual stuff some genius invented 100 years ago that we're lucky to have his degarotype preserved for posterity on a glass plate, but i don't know if that's the case here.
i'm going to use a plastic frisbee turned upside-down to help hold the magnets in place with centrifugal force, and for initial experimentation i'll use double-stick foam tape to hold the rotor magnets in place.
the frisbee will be stuck with shoe-goo onto an in-line roller skate wheel.
i'll let you all know when it goes down in ignominious defeat.
if the blame thing works, i'll post a video.
since the magnets are on order, it may take a week or two just to get them before i can start.

Re: Awesome magnetic motor
btw, i think i know exactly what the buzzing sound is in the beginning of the video linked above.
it's the auto-focus on an old-fashioned VCR cam-corder, still trying to auto-focus after being held too close to the subject.

Re: Awesome magnetic motor
a jet or rocket engine may seem to have a very fast propellant velocity, but the 'impetus velocity' of a magnet is lightspeed.

Re: Awesome magnetic motor
Available soon, the real deal! At least it sounds like it has some power.
Just imagine how much free electricity we can make by daisy-chaining these things!

In order to change an existing paradigm you do not struggle to try and change the problematic model. You create a new model and make the old one obsolete. -Buckminster Fuller

The key word here is ..."claim"... I got a bunch of those!
