Heraclitus was a pre Socratic Greek philosopher who lived in Ephesus, which was then under Persian rule.
Here are some quotes attributed to Heraclitus:
Lightning pervades the cosmos
Incredulity prevents knowledge of the celestial
Expect the unexpected
Fire is primal
Only change persists
The Sun is new each day
Everything flows
All comes from one and one comes from all
The way up and the way down are the same
Good and evil are one

Re: Quotes from Heraclitus (circa 500 BC)
If good and evil are one - then lies and truth are one?
Now it might be said that judgements of good share the same nature as judgements of evil - for the mind can and does engage in illusions of truth or of good as a basis to frame reality in conflict for vested illusion conflicts with truth - or true acceptance of reality.
The Good can be original to the resonance of recognition of wholeness as a beholding - but what we call good can run false worship - as in seeking gain of function as a predictive control over a reality that thus runs dark to our 'models and myths'.
For the spotlight of such a mind conceals more than it reveals.
Creation can be expressed as 'behold I make all things new' - for such is synchronicity, not a story or continuity of causal past stamping on the face of the present into an endless future.
Mind can become phished by its own train of thought, such as to run in emulation.
What we take to be a mind may be an artefact of thought running 'dark' - not as an alien imposition - but from the wish to persist in ideas that are alien to our true nature - ie as a fixed and separate thing - yet judging and acting upon a transient life and world experience - to engage with our own reactive reflections.
The always
all ways new
always now
always knew
Filters and rules that block knowing run as the active ignorance of assigning a partiality as truth, knowledge and thus basis for identification of thinks as separate things and separate powers or gods.
A sense of knowing as a field of wholeness cannot be described or defined but is a basis for guidance and alignment of thought.
The mindset of good and evil is recognisably coercive and conflictive.
The voice or guide for the field of awareness is never coercive or unconflicted.
The still-point within all that is, as a knowing field, embraces polarity.
A polarised identity complex excludes the knowing field by engaging war as its cause, nature and source of identification.
As in "I WANT IT THUS!".
We all have the ego as part of our desire to have our own experience.
But is there not a process of reintegration and alignment for such a mis-taken inheritance?
And a release of true desire and curiosity from the lockdown of the mind to unquestioned dictates?
