Interesting article about a 1983 volcanic eruption in Lesotho that turned out to be (and I paraphrase the video here) lightning that hit a power line pole that then discharged to ground and melted the surrounding rocks to a depth of 2 metres... also briefly mentions a similar and more recent event in Pakistan at the end of the vid
