When a small team of us visited his lab at the UW a few years back, one of his lab assistants was working at a station where he was investigating the occurrence of small IR bursts at the moment ice solidified. This was part of their investigation into the EZ in ice. (EZ = "exclusion zone" where multiple layers of gel-like water form "piles" of polarized water, improperly aka surface tension)
Interesting indeed.

Have you found mention of specific radio frequencies in observations of this phenomena. Does the IR pulse transpose to different frequencies of "mysterious radio waves" reported in the link in the OP?

Unfortunately, the specific frequencies of radio wave emissions from the ice were not reported in the links following from the link in the OP. I find it odd the discoverers omit this because it seems like an important detail.

Piezoelectric generation of EMF discharge in frequencies generated and "tuned" by crystal and metallic structure of rock and resonant cavities, cracks, etc, acting as wave guides.

Radio Waves From Under Antarctic Ice

Apparently, mysterious radio waves emanating from below the Antarctic ice have been detected by a balloon designed to detect radio waves from cosmic rays entering the atmosphere from space.
Anyone have any ideas?
