That's amazing. Given that the auroras I've seen are white or faintly colored until you look at them through a camera (then the colors come out), do you know if this thing looked like that to the naked eye? Or is the coloring because a camera took it?

Red sprite lightning captured in incredible detail over Castelnaud Castle, Château de Castelnaud, France.
These things look small, but they are actually massive, sometimes stretching 50 miles top to bottom and up to 6 miles thick…
