Crowley Lake columns

Has anyone investigated (aware of) Crowley Lake columns?

Could the column formation be caused by electrical phenomenon of a lesser intensity than a mass lightning strike? Lightning itself doesn't form straight parallel shafts.

Is there a plasma experiment that gave a similar result?

I think it is especially interesting that the columns go all the way through to the top, and beyond in some places. This can be seen in some photos, like the one in the link below.

Link to sample photo of the columns (There are no doubt more and better images than this): https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dG4ro5GcgFw/ ... umns-7.jpg

An article about analysis of the columns mentions them containing quartz and (volcanic) glass shards., which may be a hint about past electrical activity.
