Big Bang Priest Video

Has science taken a wrong turn? If so, what corrections are needed? Chronicles of scientific misbehavior. The role of heretic-pioneers and forbidden questions in the sciences. Is peer review working? The perverse "consensus of leading scientists." Good public relations versus good science.

Big Bang Priest Video

Unread post by KTMKim » Thu Feb 24, 2022 12:06 am

I'm trying to find a old video on Thunder Bolts Project YT but I'm having trouble. It was not a Wallace Thornhill video, but the speaker explained the origins of the big bang theory (fairytale) and names Father Lemaitre as the progenitor. Does anyone remember it? Thank you :-)

I'm so tired of people postulating this expanding universe as real and basing new hypothesis upon it. Makes you wanna crawl in a hole away from idiots/clown world out there.

Dwardu Cardona wrote about Lemaitre at length in his last book, Newborn Star. It might have been one of his talks.

A search of "Lemaitre" on the Thunderbolts website brings up two articles.

Excerpt from:
https://www.thunderbolts.info/wp/2018/0 ... -religion/
Perhaps Terry Pratchett summed it up best: “In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.”

Thunderblog -- Dave Drew #3 (Abbe Georges L.)Abbe Georges Lemaitre
As if to further complicate matters, many people of both religious and atheistic persuasions are equally happy to interpret the Big Bang to fit their worldview. The late philosopher, Christopher Hitchens, an avowed atheist, stated that the biblical creation event had been replaced by the ‘Beauty of the Big Bang.’ It seems he was insinuating that the biblical genesis, metaphorical or otherwise, was somehow less beautiful than its scientific counterpart. But that’s an irrelevance. A mere value judgment. In truth, Hitchen’s conveniently ignored the fact that in 1927 the Big Bang was conceived by the Belgian priest, Abbe Georges Lemaitre, to reconcile science and religion. Lemaitre was, at the time, both a member of the Catholic hierarchy and an accomplished scientist. He said in private that this theory was a way to reconcile science with St. Thomas Aquinas’ theological dictum of creatio ex nihilo or creation out of nothing. Lemaitre described the beginning of the universe as ‘A Day Without Yesterday’ in reference to the creation account in Genesis.

You guys are so helpful. I did the same, but wanted the video (which was another jaw dropping wtf for me when I found out the source for that dopey hypothesis)

Mathias' essays are mind blowing! If I could just beat them into my friends and co workers, I might actually HAVE some friends and co workers to speak of!

Thanks everyone.

I just had to search my personal TPOD archive for Lemaitre and found one hit.
I don't have an online link, but the article is
Does it Matter?
Dec 08, 2010
And offers a link to http://mythopedia.info/

The excerpt is
Modern scientists face the same ontological dilemma as the old myth-makers did when contemplating the universe. Unlike the earlier societies, proponents of the ‘Big Bang’ theory claim that the entire universe, including the concepts of matter and of time, sprang into existence at a single instant – prior to which ‘pure energy’ alone is thought to have existed in a greatly condensed form. The spiritual father of this theory, the Belgian priest, physicist and astronomer, Georges Lemaître (1894-1966), did not conceal his conviction that this explosive event, billions of years ago, vindicates the Christian teaching of God’s creation from nothing.
Yet as in mythology, so in science creatio ex nihilo is challenged by champions of a universe that is infinite in space as well as time – first by advocates of a ‘steady state’ cosmology, including Fred Hoyle and Thomas Gold, and now again by plasma cosmologists, who have developed better ways to ‘save the phenomena’ than the mind-boggling postulate of a ‘singularity’ triggering uniform expansion.

I had missed the article "The Long Farewell to the Big Bang Model of Cosmology" when it was first published. Thanks, nick c, for including that link in your post; there was a lot of background info that I had not seen. I was disappointed, in fact experienced a little cognitive dissonance, to find in the article Dr. Hüfner's seemingly blithe acceptance of "Climate Change" when its underpinnings exhibit the same lack of rigor and scrutiny as the output of the Big Bangers. Why does it matter? The damage being done by what passes for "science" these days not only wastes tremendous sums, the potential for misery and death extends to millions. If one is a true champion of scientific inquiry, there can be no exceptions for signaling virtue to a politically powerful fallacy. I confess to being somewhat of a fanboy of Richard Feynman when it comes to how science should be done. Here are a few relevant maxims (the first one certainly applies to our government's handling of the pandemic):
"No government has the right to decide on the truth of scientific principles, nor to prescribe in any way the character of the questions investigated. Neither may a government determine the aesthetic value of artistic creations, nor limit the forms of literacy or artistic expression. Nor should it pronounce on the validity of economic, historic, religious, or philosophical doctrines. Instead it has a duty to its citizens to maintain the freedom, to let those citizens contribute to the further adventure and the development of the human race." ~ Richard P. Feynman

"If you're doing an experiment, you should report everything that you think might make it invalid - not only what you think is right about it; other causes that could possibly explain your results; and things you thought of that you've eliminated by some other experiment, and how they worked -to make sure the other fellow can tell they have been eliminated." ~ Richard P. Feynman

"The idea is to try to give all the information to help others to judge the value of your contribution; not just the information that leads to judgment in one particular direction or another." ~ Richard P. Feynman
If I am wrong about the quality of the research supporting the IPCC please point me to where ALL of the data and ALL of the manipulations of that data are available. Please point me to other studies that confirm the original papers. What I see from the IPCC is the same kind of fear porn promoted during the pandemic.

In the late 1980s the U.N. was already claiming the world had only a decade to solve global warming or face the consequences. For the last forty years IPCC mouthpieces have been warning that catastrophe is only (5,10, [scary number]) years away.
The San Jose Mercury News reported on June 30, 1989 that a “senior environmental official at the United Nations, Noel Brown, says entire nations could be wiped off the face of the earth by rising sea levels if global warming is not reversed by the year 2000.”
Perhaps Dr. Hüfner, being in Germany, is compelled to mouth the IPCC's pieties.
Time is what prevents everything from happening all at once.
