Xenon "dark matter" detectors supposedly finding 'dark energy' now!

Just when I think I've seen just about every possible ad hoc explanation for an experimental result......they surprise me.

For *decades* now these various (numerous and expensive) 'xenon' based experiments have been sold to the public as the ultimate dark matter detector. Now as desperation starts to set in, they are trying to claim that they miraculously found a "dark energy" signature. Oy Vey!

Better yet, they're claiming that it's happening in the solar tachocline in strong magnetic fields.

"We explored a model in which this signal could be attributable to dark energy, rather than the dark matter the experiment was originally devised to detect."

In other words they simply made up a mythical particle physics process rather than trying to explain it via ordinary physics.

It's actually quite sad. We really are living in the dark ages of astronomy. I pity 'professional cosmologists" today. Their 'professional opinions' about dark stuff will be about as useful to physics in the next century as epicycles are useful to us today. Nothing they believe to be true in space is actually true.

The problem is that mainstream proponents are so hidebound and brainwashed that they won't even read articles like that.

They are comfortable believing in gnomes and that's all there is too it.
