This paper supports the theory that the planets(mostly) drive the solar 11 and 22 year cycles.

I have supported The planets as the main driver of the 11/22 year cycle.
I would have posted this on a previous thread where we discussed this topic,
but I don't remember, and did not find the right one.
Any help to consolidate is welcomed.

Re: solar cycles
Thanks for posting. I haven't read very far into it yet, but this statement seems false/limited to me:
There is quite clearly a third possibility (at least) which is that the Sun is influenced by cyclical/changing energies in its environment.
If an incandescent light bulb pulses or flickers we do not normally conclude that it is due to the moths flying around it, or some internal activity in the bulb. Rather we conclude that there were variations in the power supply.
Maybe the planets are the primary cause of the solar cycles... it's a viable hypothesis. I just don't like that they rule out external factors without even acknowledging the possibility.
This statement implies the solar system is a closed system. It is not, as it exists as part of the larger, probably infinite universe. There is no such thing as a closed system.There appear to be two possibilities: either the oscillations in solar activity are exclusively controlled by internal solar dynamo mechanisms, or the solar dynamo is partially synchronized to planetary frequencies by planetary forcings.

They offer the oscillations of the planets (ie orbits) that influence what they think is going on inside the sun;

There may be other influences from outside the heliosphere, such as offered by Robertus Maximus in other posts.
But I have said that with the orbit of Jupiter at 11.86 years, it is too close to the AVERAGE half solar cycle 11 years
to dismiss it lightly.

The solar cycle is what happens to the QUIET SUN;
the interruptions to the basic sun.
We here know that, but these are mainstream scientists.This statement implies the solar system is a closed system. It is not, as it exists as part of the larger, probably infinite universe.
That is exactly why I have posted this here.There is quite clearly a third possibility (at least) which is that the Sun is influenced by cyclical/changing energies in its environment.

I suggest it is a large step in the right direction.cyclical/changing energies in its environment
