Unfortunately, most of the time that doesn't seem to work in real life ... or you end up with a Pyrrhic victory.

And you hopefully have seen the YouTube videos on “See the Pattern”? In the precession series, Gareth illustrates very straightforwardly the Ideas here. As a matter of fact, he covers a number of EU topics discussed in this forum, and makes them a bit easier to visualize.

Look at the language used in the following article on this discovery …

https://www.salon.com/2021/10/27/is-the ... -think-so/
Is the earth hanging by cosmic ropes inside a magnetic tunnel? Some scientists think so
“Hanging?” “Cosmic Ropes?” “Magnetic Tunnel?”

To me, the language is an indication of how divorced they are from performing and reporting real science. Now amazingly, the article does point out that scientists have known since the 1960s about these structures. But why is it only now that a few of them have added two and two together and realized they are connected filaments. And they still haven’t gotten to the correct answer ... that what they are seeing are Birkeland filaments, not a “magnetic tunnel”. And that’s because the mainstream has spent the last 60 years disparaging the people who were right all along … who actually did understand the physics of what’s going on out there. And they're still acting clueless. Notice that the article fails to mention that the scientists in the study also discovered that the two filaments appear to be helically wound about each other. But then the scientists themselves ignored that finding in their study, doing all the rest of their calculations assuming parallel filaments. So maybe we should give the poor *science* writer a pass.

But look at the article’s subtitle … "A new study suggests that Earth occupies a very unique place in the universe... quite literally". Surely the scientists involved in the study didn't actually say or imply that. Because if they did, it seems to me they’re back to believing what I thought Copernicus taught us not to believe. And maybe they did, give that they believe in epicycles to explain the observations, because that's all their gnomes are?

Finally, notice the last part of the article where it says …
"One theory of magnetism in galaxies is called Dynamo theory - it's the theory that explains the magnetic field in the Earth and in our Sun, and that they are generated from rotating, charged particles," West said. "We think it is also responsible for generating the magnetic fields in galaxies, but we need more evidence to support this hypothesis."
Reading that, maybe there is finally hope they’ll see what’s been obvious to all of us.

And then, just maybe, they’ll take their dark matter/dark energy/ubiquitous black hole blinders off, too.

We can dream.

Charge separation gives rise to the electric currents in space. We live in a Universe where charge is already separated, so it is in a constant state of dynamic equilibrium.

That would be the God question.

What creates the current?
What the forces behind such currents?

The Earth Is Inside an Enormous Cosmic Tunnel, New Research Proposes
In new research, scientists are proposing that Earth is situated within an enormous magnetized tunnel surrounding the entire solar system.

As detailed in a new study accepted for publication at the Astrophysical Journal and uploaded to arXiv, researchers at the University of Toronto’s Dunlap Institute, National Research Council Canada, and the University of British Columbia, this would explain the presence of two large, highly magnetic filamentary (rope-like) structures in the Milky Way with unexplained origins.

“Astronomers have long been puzzled by what these structures are,” said Dr. Jennifer West, Research Associate at the Dunlap Institute and first author on the report in an email to Motherboard. “I hope this is a step towards understanding the magnetic field of our whole Galaxy, and of the Universe.”

The North Polar Spur and the Fan Region have long been known as two of the brightest radio-emitting gas structures in the sky— but since their discovery in the 1960s, their exact identity has been the source of perplexion among the scientific community. Though invisible to the human eye, NPS and the Fan Region emit strong magnetic radio waves that are large, and highly visible through a radio telescope, enveloping the solar system.

“If our eyes could see radio light they would fill most of the sky,” West said.

Using a computer model that simulates what’s visible through a radio telescope, West and her colleagues mapped out the length and position of both structures, ultimately piecing together a theory that the two structures are not separate, as they’ve long been considered, but are part of the same, tunnel-like object.

“These have been a mystery to astronomers for the past 50 years and we are the first to propose a model that explains these structures as one single object that surrounds us,” West said. “Most previous work has studied them individually, as two separate and distinct objects.”

But landing on this conclusion was only possible when West reframed her vision of the galaxy—literally. While most researchers look at maps of the Milky Way with the North Pole at the top and the galactic center in the middle, West told Motherboard that redrawing this map from a different perspective, with a different center point, made viewing the connection between the NPS and the Fan Region easier. Because the structures are too far away to ever possibly visit by spaceship, she relies primarily upon computer models and telescopes for her assessments. West likens the work to drawing a three-dimensional rendering of your own house while stuck on your couch, unable to leave.

So, when she thought to reorient the galaxy map, West said that something clicked.

“Ever since I first saw a map of the sky as a radio telescope sees it, I have been fascinated by these structures and wondered what they are, and what is causing them,” West says. “The first time I made a radio map of our Galaxy using a different centre point was really a big ‘aha’ moment for me.”

“I love to spend time looking up at the stars in the sky and thinking about the vastness of the universe,” she added. “I really wish I could put on some radio glasses so that I could see this giant tunnel. But it reminds me that there is so much more out there than what we can see.”

According to the paper, the team plans to develop the model further and conduct more research, in the hopes that it can shed more light on the massive tunnel that may surround us, and other filament structures that are being revealed throughout the universe with new observations.

Looking at the pdf article I was bothered that they did not draw a clear image of the "magnetized tunnel", they show the standard distorted view from inside.

The insight the woman had was drawing things from the outside, then didn't make that clear enough in the paper.

As an aside:

Think of the map of the background microwave radiation created by COBE and WMAP. They are each pictures made from inside the magnetic bubble of the Earth's magnetosphere. Which also sits within the bubble surrounding the Sun out past Pluto, the Heliosphere. Which now sits within that "tunnel".

At no time have we ever "mapped" the 4K microwave image of the "edge of the Universe", because we are sitting inside so many volumes that we cannot see out of.

The part that kills me is that fact that the *only* way you're going to get a "magnetized tube structure" made of plasma is to have current running though that "tube" and everyone and his brother knows it. It's absolutely hilarious how many different ways the mainstream describes a Birkeland current, only so they don't have to use it's proper scientific term.
More than just magnetized, Michael. On pages 13 and 14 of the paper ... https://arxiv.org/pdf/2109.14720.pdf ... announcing this discovery, the authors state, when talking about the North Polar Spur (NPS) and two other loops ... three of the filaments making up this "tunnel" ... that the brightness gradients along the length of the filaments “could be due to variations in magnetic field orientation” that “could be produced if the filaments consist of a bundle of finer filaments with a twisted or helical structure”. And isn't a fundamental characteristic of Birkeland currents a helical structure just like they described?

But then, rather than take off the blinders that their mainstream education has imparted to them, the authors deliberately ignore that possibility, saying that they "choose" to discuss only the parallel filament case for the remainder of the paper. This sort of blind ignorance isn't hilarious ... it's criminal ... because what they have been doing is literally wasting billions and billions and billions of dollars in their 100 year, absolutely fruitless search for their dark matter/dark energy gnomes. And not only money has been wasted, but a generation or two or three of astrophysicists' minds. Plus the opportunity costs to civilization from pursuing bogus physics rather than something that might actually have benefited mankind. CRIMINAL.

That's because Earth, the entire solar system and a few nearby stars are all encircled by a tunnel-like structure of magnetized filaments that are invisible to the human eye, says Jennifer West, an astrophysicist at the U of T's Dunlap Institute.
