Scientific Corruption in Universities

Has science taken a wrong turn? If so, what corrections are needed? Chronicles of scientific misbehavior. The role of heretic-pioneers and forbidden questions in the sciences. Is peer review working? The perverse "consensus of leading scientists." Good public relations versus good science.

Scientific Corruption in Universities

Unread post by Zyxzevn » Tue Dec 22, 2015 9:47 pm

Discussion by Stefan Molyneux and a scientist.
The topic is about clinical science funded by government.
The Death of Science| Scientific Corruption and You

He describes that scientists have become fraudelent, because the science becomes more and more corrupt..
That is because former scientific publications, that were "great discoveries", can not be repeated.
And the system makes it impossible to correct the false publications.

The new scientists have to manipulate their results to produce an article that will be published.
So instead of punishment for bad unrepeatable research, scientists that are cheating ("a bit") get rewarded.

This seems the major problem with astronomy. Certain interpretations of the data and the following theories
have to be repeated over and over again. Any criticism is punished.
On department level it will even financial consequences.

TY for this link. As a libertarian I always knew some of the failings of government funding science (if it isn't obviously in the climatology field IDK what to say to you). Sadly I didn't realize things were THIS bad. Obviously sometimes useful things come from even gov science but just imagine how many useful things would have been created with the intellect out there if they weren't studying things that had no practical bearing on improving the life of humans....
