Recent Arrival , Oct 9th.

Hundreds of TPODs have been published since the summer of 2004. In particular, we invite discussion of present and recent TPODs, perhaps with additional links to earlier TPOD pages. Suggestions for future pages will be welcome. Effective TPOD drafts will be MORE than welcome and could be your opportunity to become a more active part of the Thunderbolts team.

How are these meteorites assigned a Martian origin?

Why Mars?

Could (any number of small) asteroid approaches have made the deposits?

It'll be down to chemical composition..
of course, they cant be 100% certain that there's not some random mars like stuff from elsewhere, but by what we know of martian geology..? should maybe be Martiology.. ;) and chemistry they can tell if a rock is probably from there.
