Plasma formations in Germanic heraldic symbolism

Hundreds of TPODs have been published since the summer of 2004. In particular, we invite discussion of present and recent TPODs, perhaps with additional links to earlier TPOD pages. Suggestions for future pages will be welcome. Effective TPOD drafts will be MORE than welcome and could be your opportunity to become a more active part of the Thunderbolts team.

Plasma formations in Germanic heraldic symbolism

Unread post by comingfrom » Mon Nov 23, 2015 2:31 am

This relates to Aug 12, 2013 TPOD "Confronting the dragon"

Dragons get mentioned a few times in EU literature.
The Chinese serpent dragons seem to show the greatest likeness to plasma formations, so I'll begin this with a couple of examples.

As I was studying my collection of old German stamps, I noticed that some of the heraldic symbols on the coats of arms have features in common. Here are some examples.

I tried to learn the origin of these symbols, but all I could find out is they were chosen for traditional reasons.
