Here are a few links to EU on a couple social media sites.

Not entirely "official" in all cases. Still nifty spots to go chat, for those who wish to connect up with or 'follow'' others.

Need some admins for plasma based facebook group

Unread post by zeuz » Sun Aug 26, 2012 6:13 pm

Hey all.

Been realizing recently what a great platform facebook groups can be in terms of educating the general population on science related content they otherwise have not have ever heard about. You can post pictures, link to news articles, share on other communities walls, and generally raise awareness of science related content.

So just a minute ago I started a new page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Plasma-is ... 9772551522
(I am not sure if the URL will work yet, might take a day or two)

Thing is I already have another facebook group about science and nature in general, and being the admin for two groups would be very time consuming, so it would be great to get some of the more knowledgeable members here to volunteer to be admins. With that there comes no responsibility. You either post comments on plasma physics and space plasma behaviour, or you don't. I just need to give you the privileges.

But firstly I should point out I do not want this page to be just full electric universe material. As much as I love the more speculative and creative EU ideas, it is a page designed for plasma physics. So linking to popular science magazine articles, uploading pictures of plasma experiments and explaining them, birkelands work, different scales of plasma behaviour, and generally all non controversial plasma physics is welcome.

Ridiculing other 'mainstream' space sciences is not what the page is about. I don't want it to turn into an anti science group, I just want it to be educational about plasmas and how they work.

For example here is my plasma album from my current facebook group: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set= ... 326&type=1

That is the sort of content needed. Pictures, history of plasma, plasma experiments, new research, space plasma, how plasma works on different scales, and other things. The history of Birkeland and others would be great. Some of the ideas, sure, can be EU based, as long as it's a definite theory with confirmation and pictorial evidence. Facebook users like pictures :D

Anyway I'll leave this thread here for a few days and hopefully some members will be interested ;) Within just a month I've got 700 people on the other facebook page and its rising exponentially, just for posting science material.

I just like spreading good interesting science to a general population that tends to think its boring, when in fact science is #%?$ awesome.

All the best
Zeuz

Of course, there's already

(Plasma Cosmology)
https://www.facebook.com/groups/plasmacosm/

&

(Coalition for Plasma Science)
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Coalitio ... 7018573751

At some point, more is just... more. & enough is too much already. Hehe. ;) Not saying it's not good to see more plasma-related web pages. It is, I guess. Just thee are already so many pages and groups to subscribe to, it's hard to keep up with 'em all! ;)

But, here's hoping for the best...

I always share the EU posts, I think that my friends will find them interesting so I pass them on. As for there being several EU orientated pages, I don't see anything wrong with that. The more the merrier, say I!
