Excerpts from The Electric Universe
Part 1
Today I have published the first in a series of "Special Edition" thunderblogs. They are special in the sense that there is little if any commentary, they are simply excerpts from the book The Electric Universe by Wal Thornhill and David Talbott.
The idea behind this is to help direct discussion on the Thunderbolts forum toward Electric Universe theory as published by the proponents thereof. Many people are speaking about facets of EU theory in a manner which indicates they do not really have as good a grasp on it as they would like, and not everybody wants to or can afford to buy the books on the subject, at least until they know enough about it to make such a decision an informed one.
So I have undertaken (with permission) to reproduce substantial portions of TEU as Special Edition thunderblogs in the hope of making some of the more important EU principles and underpinnings as available as possible.
I hope our members here find this approach refreshing and welcome, and that we can aim to make the forum better reflect a working knowledge of EU.
The first of the special edition series is titled Excerpts From The Electric Universe - Part 1 and begins at chapter four of the book, on Electric Comets.
Please help us to keep this thread on topic by discussing the published work only. Enjoy!
Cheers, Dave Smith.

Re: Excerpts from The Electric Universe
I am one of those people so here goes.
Space is not empty but is teaming with charged particles.
The aroura, coronas, comet tails etc.. are Plasma discharge phenomena, as are lightning, sparks and maybe light itself.
What we observe as these phenomena are the Plasma discharge caused by the surface charge density differentials of a body interacting or in motion through a diffuse medium of electrons that are not tied to any atomic structure
Since Plasma is Scalable, research has been done that supports the Observations we experience in Space.
Because of the advancement of detection technology we are presented with an overwhelming flow of undisputible Scaled experimental evidence suppirting the Data that is ahead of the standard cirriculum taught in the field of Cosmology in our education system to which the Public Funds.
We can start with that.
Peace

Excellent, I'll be an avid reader of them then.... I've gone about as far as I can with Black holes, Neutron stars, Dark Matter, Dark Energy, Oort Clouds, WIMPs, MACHOs, comets that melt too soon, etc.... It'll be nice to read something testable and different.
and it'll be interesting to see the two hypothesis's competing with observed data.

With the EU hypothesis, there is simply no need to invent these mythical objects, as there is nothing missing - all ids present & correct with 96% of the universe being Plasma in dark mode as opposed to glow or arc modes (the latter two making up the 4% observable universe we see).
The "Dirty Snowball" theory of comets needs to be put to rest now, it's long dead & starting to smell, frankly. none of the missions that have got to a "comet" (which I still think is almost indistinguishable from an asteroid, make-up wise) seems to show rocks with EDM (Electric Discharge Mining) scars, not "impact craters", as any true impact craters are not going to be circular but elliptical unless somehow every impacting object manages to strike perpendicular to the target. Not too likely. EDM would be perpendicular though, so problem solved.
I think the sole thing that makes such items "comets" is the extremely elliptical orbit.
You will never get a man to understand something his salary depends on him not understanding.

Part 2
This week we present the orthodox "dirty snowball" model and contrast it with the plasma discharge (electric comet) model. In presenting these in dot-point form it is easy to see that the plasma discharge model explains and even predicts the observations much more accurately than does the currently accepted model of comets.

To Mr. Talbott and Mr. Thornhill:
Thanks very kindly for allowing Dave to share your work with us here like this, for the benefit of us whom cannot run out and buy a complete EU library at the drop of a hat! (Children, college... 'nuff said. :\ )
With thanks,
Mike H.

One of the most important books to own and its not going to break anyones bank.
I say support the cause and buy one.

Part 3
February 01, 2010
How is it that a tiny comet nucleus can hold a coma sometimes larger than the Sun, against the force of the solar wind? If gravity alone were responsible it would require the nucleus to have a density orders of magnitude higher than any known substance, yet most comets are said to be low-density bodies. Only the Electric Universe offers a coherent answer to this paradox.

Part 4
February 11, 2010
Through this series of Special Edition Thunderblogs it is emerging that the electric theory of comets offers a far superior explanation of observations than does the standard model. Having previously explored the main features of comets it is now pertinent to take a closer look at their many enigmatic surface features such as spires, pits and craters.

Re: Excerpts from The Electric Universe
Nice, i would consider this for the predictions page:
One thing is for sure; the EU model and the terminology paint a clear mental model of the phenomena that we observe.
How simple and difficult has it become to realize that all our manufacturing processes and technological innovations were learned from the Empirical study of Natural processes?
So what are the odds that Nature uses the same techniques that we do to get similar result?
Or is it vice-versa?
Excellent work EU!!
Peace
Or
Another pioneer of the electric universe, Earl Milton [above], noted in 1980 that he and Juergens had independently concluded that a comet nucleus would be scarred “like an electrode in an arc. Over time the cometary nucleus should become cratered and pitted…When a spacecraft finally achieves a rendezvous with one of the comets, scientists are going to be surprised to find a surface pitted like that of the Moon, Mars, or Mercury.” 102 At the time, scientists had never seen a comet surface. The first flyby of a comet took place 6 years later.

Re: Excerpts from The Electric Universe
Nice find Orlando. It seems that Milton and Juergens got a direct hit bullseye with that one! Especially since astronomers, in 1980, were quite sure that comets were composed of ices and not in any way rocky bodies.
Do you have a link for that quote?
I am wondering if they made that prediction in Kronos, seems about right for 1980.

Part 5
March 13, 2010
Comets fragmenting is a common occurrence but upon close examination of such events, many of which take place far from the sun, it becomes obvious that an electrical explanation offers a far better fit than the ad hoc adjustment of the "dirty snowball" model.

Part 6
April 25, 2010
When Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 fragmented in 1992 upon a close approach to Jupiter, it gave us indications that its changing electrical environment was responsible for the breakup, as orthodox theories failed miserably with a comet so far from the Sun. When the fragments returned to collide with Jupiter in 1994 it gave us unprecedented opportunity to evaluate the validity of the models on offer.

Re: Excerpts from The Electric Universe
Part 7
If electric cometary theory needed any more support than we have seen in this series, it was supplied when NASA slammed a copper projectile into comet Tempel 1 on the Deep Impact mission. Whilst most scientists were confronted with surprise after surprise, Wal Thornhill using only Electric Universe theory accurately predicted what would be observed. Although his predictions were on public record before the event, they were met with an eerie silence by the scientific community.

Re: Excerpts from The Electric Universe
Part 8
In this series we have contrasted the dirty snowball model of comets to the plasma discharge model, questioned how gravity alone could retain huge comas, explored surface features not expected of a slushball, discovered that electrical stresses are the most likely cause of cometary fragmentation, and observed the impacts of comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 with Jupiter and the Deep Impact probe into comet Tempel 1. Together this outstanding body of observations must bring into question the orthodox model of comets as it serves to demonstrate the predictive power of Electric Universe theory.
