EU vs: BB and Entropy

Post by bobspurr » Tue Dec 29, 2009 11:03 am

i probably have no right to post here as i am a 70year old, dumb west texan with no degree in anything but cow milking but i've been deeply interested in the subject at hand since i was a kid and from first contact found the EU theory a revelation. the more i read the more convinced i am that this is the right path.
one thing that came to mind, if i understand what i have been reading, is that the findings within the study of entropy which seem to be based on the weak gravitational force is not only wrong the exact opposite is actually true in a universe based on infinitely strong electro-magnetic, self organizing [ie: berkland current] forces.

OMG Bob, I just had to chuckle when I read your post all the way through! Talking about being a "70 year old dumb west Texan with a 'degree in cow milking' suddenly talking about the weak gravitational force, Law of Entropy, and Birkeland currents! You had me fooled at the beginning, but I know now that yer momma didn't raise no dummy!

I'm not much of a theorist or philosopher, but... what effect has Entropy on an open system, you know? In a closed system/finite Universe (such as the mainstreamers propose), mathematicians have friggin' picnics to discuss things like 'total volume of mass/energy/whatnot of the Universe' while they play checkers and frisbee.
In an infinite Universe, with an unknown and apparently limitless amount of energy (99.9% plasma means a whole heck of a lot of electricity amblin around)... well, I think the picture is pretty clear as to my meaning.

By the way- welcome to the boards and pleased to meet you! Don't feel bad at all about your lack of background- lots of us folks here aren't scientists. I'm just an old Navy electronics tech from the Hill Country north of San Antonio, after all! ;)

Exactly, the universe is an open system....so its not a problem.

Shoot farr, there's more o' us than you kin poke a stick at! I'm right behindja at 67, got outa UT in 67 (coincidence, there) and moved here from TX only 5 years back. Don't worry about entropy. We're in a closed but essentially infinite system and everything has to be conserved. (See? Even I and JL have occasionally different viewpoints on things!) If the universe, which is all there is, is surrounded by literally nothing, there is no place else for energy, heat, mass, and other real things and phenomena to go, is there? So it all stays here, like Las Vegas. No winding down of the clock and infinitely cold dark ending. The universe is a very efficient recycler. No beginning. No end.
Welcome. Enjoy! This is a great place for discoveries and discussions and alternate points of view.

And here I was whining about my upcoming 45th birthday!

You guys got me feeling so young, why... I think I'll run out and buy myself a Speedo swimsuit and strut my stuff on the beach now! :D

Ehhh... on second thought, I hate the feeling of suntan lotion matting up all my fur... :X

The universe is not surrounded by nothing. One seems to forget the zero - point field, the vacuum flux, the aether, what ever you want to call it, something (the open part), is keeping all the atoms in the universe constantly spinning, so no, I could never see it as closed. How could a closed universe keep the atoms spinning?

I'll join that over 65 club. And I'm from Texas, too.

i can't thank youall enough for responding to my "Entropy" question. I got to say i'm surprised to see so many fellow "oldies but goodies" around here and so many fellow texans.
i have another question. Junglelord, if i read you right, in your minds eye you see plasma fields and berkland filamants extending uninterrupted into the space beyond the observable universe. i guess what i mean is the universe actually a sort of junction box in a larger configuration of circuitry and its related plasma fields?
