quasar becoming galaxy

Post by BABOafrica » Mon Aug 01, 2016 5:27 am

I read a while back -- I assume it was at this website -- about a deep sky object that, 12 years ago, was clearly identified as a quasar but, unaccountably has vanished only to be replaced by a galaxy in the place where the quasar used to be.

Does this ring a bell? Any idea where I might find more info on this?
