Massive Solar Hole NASA image

I can find no confirmation of this massive solar 'hole'' does anyone else know of this NASA photo?

Similar to this one.

The sun is only black-ish in certain frequencies of the light spectrum (ultraviolet).
In the visible spectrum, this hole is invisible.
'A coronal hole is an area where high-speed solar wind streams into space.
'It appears dark in extreme ultraviolet light as there is less material to emit in these wavelengths.'
This behaviour can be caused by different electric properties of the sun's surface.

As Zyxzevn says, The "hole" is a darker area in the corona, not in the photosphere.
They are quite common. The web site is being a bit sensationalist. They are not "new".

He discuses the conditions on the sun daily. Coronal holes seem to be a significant factor related to earthquakes on earth. Ben and others are working to better predict earthquakes using the conditions and events on the sun, planet alignments and other factors.

Was also going to post this. I guess watch out for a big one - its not certain, only a raised probability. We seem to have had a lot of coronal holes this year?
