Call for funding...

Unread post by davesmith_au » Sat Dec 13, 2008 9:16 pm

Giday all.

Many of you will have noticed the Thunderbolts site has gone through an upgrade. During the upgrading process it was decided to make a call for public funding of the Thunderbolts Project. Below I have reproduced a note from Dave Talbott which was published in a recent Thunderbolts Update newsletter.
Dave Talbott wrote:
2008--YEAR OF THE "THUNDERBOLTS PROJECT" BREAKTHROUGH

There is no denying it. The Thunderbolts Project is now a global movement.

Individual visitors to Thunderbolts.info number in the tens of thousands each month. The scientific literacy of these visitors is exceptionally high, and a consistent pattern has emerged, verified by hundreds of comments. When newcomers compare the direct evidence for the Electric Universe to conventional interpretations of the same data, the conclusion becomes all too clear. We do indeed live in an electric universe.

Opportunities for increasing our public exposure are now developing faster than we can keep up with them. Scholarly and scientific liaison, film and video projects now in development, promising electrical experiments, an expanding website, and a growing number of enthusiasts who are newly educated on our subjects and helping to carry the message to other audiences.

Behind this wave of interest, an even larger number of newcomers are asking for the fastest path to education on the Electric Universe. We want to foster this process to the full extent possible.

Most of the work fueling the Thunderbolts Project has been voluntary, which means that every dollar of support we've received has been complemented by a growing volunteer effort. And we want to keep it that way.

Of course we receive no support from any governmental or conventional scientific institution. Independence of our research and publication activity is the backbone of our success, made possible by private contributions from a handful of supporters. Since the founding of the Thunderbolts Project several years ago, we have never solicited funds from the general public.

Nevertheless, as the movement grows, so will the need for new resources. It also happens that the Internet has emerged as a major source of voluntary contributions to various projects in the past few years. In fact we're now receiving queries wondering how to support the Thunderbolts Project. Therefore, to facilitate private support, we've put in place a convenient process for receiving contributions. See:
https://www.thunderbolts.info/donate.htm

Please take a moment to determine whether one of the alternatives suggested will work for you. Based on the events of the past year, we believe that independent, private support can add considerably to our long term success.

Wishing all of you the best,

David Talbott
This is a great opportunity for our forum members to put their hands up (and into their pockets...) and assist the Thunderbolts Project in the most practical way possible. We are constantly hearing "why don't they ... " and the simple answer to that query is that we don't have the funds to undertake many of the projects we'd like to.

Click here to help suppoert The Thunderbolts Project. This link will take you straight to the thunderbolts "support us" page, from where you can decide how much you wish to contribute and how often. There's also several methods by which funds can be given, including check, credit card and PayPal.

Please note: The Thunderbolts Project is NOT a registered charity or a business and survives entirely on the generous private funding of supporters.

A hearty thanks goes to those who have already contributed and to those who have committed to ongoing support. This will help to secure a great future for the Project.

Cheers, Dave Smith.

You're still just as cheerful as ever SA. What's wrong now? You were successful in getting Electric Universe removed from Wiki. One would think you to be in much better spirits lad.

Second, EU education? where can I get it!?

Hi MrAmsterdam
Following your link gets a page with this image:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/e ... e-jump.gif
with the repeated ratio interval of 10^9.

The harmonics theory http://ray.tomes.biz/maths.html predicts a common ratio of around 10^4.5 between major energy structures in the universe. This is observed in the distance scale of the sequence:
Hubble scale, galaxies, stars, planets, moons, x, y, cells, atoms, nucleons, (quarks?)

There are other things that happen at 10^9, 10^13.5, 10^40 and even 10^80 which are all powers of 10^4.5 and each other. This is expected in the universe where so many things scale as x^2 and x^3 due to 3D space. Surface area of spherical waves goes up as x^2 and gravity down as x^-2 while volume goes up as x^3 and tidal forces go down as x^-3 and so on.

Seeing that this thread is labeled "Call for Funding" I decided to make a donation. I can't see that info in the thread. Maybe I missed it. After some effort involving going out of the forum, I found the link. Here it is:
https://www.thunderbolts.info/support.htm
Maybe this could be put in a prominent place in the first post.

Thank you, Ray. I know Thunderbolts needs all the funding it can get, although it is hardly an active fund-raiser by most standard measures. The link was up above in the large quote of Dave Talbott in the first post from Dave Smith.

Just an update on supporting The Thunderbolts Project.

Please note: The Thunderbolts Project is not a registered charity or a business. It survives entirely on generous private funding from our supporters.

Due to the wish not to be misrepresenting ourselves as a charity, we have changed the "donate" page to "support us". In the case of any external third party links to the old "donate" page, this is now automatically redirected to the new "support us" page.

I sent a check to:

The Thunderbolts Project
1217 NE 75th Ave.
Portland OR 97213

But it was returned marked "not here". Perhaps this is not the correct address?

Respectfully,
Dotini

Thanks for letting us know Dotini, that was an oversight. Mikamar has moved, but I hadn't remembered that their address was on the support page  .

The new address is:

The Thunderbolts Project
2315 SE Wren St.
Portland OR 97222
