Birkeland Currents in Halley?

Beyond the boundaries of established science an avalanche of exotic ideas compete for our attention. Experts tell us that these ideas should not be permitted to take up the time of working scientists, and for the most part they are surely correct. But what about the gems in the rubble pile? By what ground-rules might we bring extraordinary new possibilities to light?

Birkeland Currents in Halley?

Post by longtex » Wed Oct 14, 2009 2:18 pm

While researching Carolina Bays, I came across an image said to be of Halley's Comet, from 1910, showing five tails. The lowest has the typical "braided" appearance of Birkeland currents.

I would have assumed this had been noticed before, but perhaps not... thought I'd post about it anyway, as I am looking right at it.

The link http://www.grahamphillips.net/eden/eden_4.htm - about 2/3 of the way down, on the left side, styled "halley.jpg" - or skip the text and go directly to the image: http://www.grahamphillips.net/eden/halley.jpg

FWIW - Tex

* Might as well post the image: Image
* Looks kind of like Talbott's Venus Hand. See Symbols of an Alien Sky, Part 5a at 2 minutes, 20 seconds and following at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyhKl-Xy ... L&index=25
