New monoliths found on Mars, Phobos

Beyond the boundaries of established science an avalanche of exotic ideas compete for our attention. Experts tell us that these ideas should not be permitted to take up the time of working scientists, and for the most part they are surely correct. But what about the gems in the rubble pile? By what ground-rules might we bring extraordinary new possibilities to light?

Even though [url2=http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1939597/posts]this cropped image[/url2] is somewhat interesting (I don't get the false color), if you look at the [url2=http://hirise-pds.lpl.arizona.edu/PDS/E ... browse.jpg]source image[/url2], there are other more tantalizing formations to be pondered, such as these:

And then there's the interesting something-or-other (in the box) on Phobos. It isn't even visible in this reduced image:

But when the source image is cropped and enlarged, this shows up (note the long shadow it casts, and the high degree of reflectivity, which actually appears to illuminate a large area in front of it):

Whatever "it" is, it's obviously huge!
