Last nite i read some papers by Ionel Dinu. He said that em waves & electric waves don't exist, at least not as a rolling em wave. He said that what Hertz found (with his reflected standing wave for his big spark making a little spark X) was a magnetic field, not an em field. And Dinu says that Maxwell's equations hav an error, at least re em waves in vacuum.

But praps Tesla's waves are a different animal. I will hav a read later today.

think about this...

a force(current) at a right angle to the rope causes the rope to become rigid. Once the rope is rigid you can push the rope causing the push to be felt instantly on the other end.

that is the real longitudinal wave.

the rope of course is the electromagnetic strand, a near infinite voltage helical structure, which the universe and everything in it is composed.

now consider how far the galaxies electric field extends, and you begin to realize that maybe you can make the call.....
its all lies.

If you use this analogy directly, the conclusion is wrong. Longitudinal waves indeed have different speed - and it is higher than the transverse waves' speed (in most cases), - but it's far from being infinite. The speed of sound in steel, for example, is only about 6 km/s. It's lower than the orbital velocity near Earth.
