Faraday Suits
In order to change an existing paradigm you do not struggle to try and change the problematic model. You create a new model and make the old one obsolete. -Buckminster Fuller

Re: Faraday Suits
The video:
High voltage inspection
Bird on a wire in Faraday suit
Is the most astonishing, amazing, devastating, thing I've ever seen.
- The smoothness of the chopper.
- The bolts of electricity.
- Working at those heights above the ground.
- The calmness with how everybody works.
Everything that we need to do as a people is expressed in that video. We work with lightning. Most people don't actually pay attention to what engineering does, what impossible things are built and worked with every day.
I've been reading the book, Stephen J. Gould and Immanuel Velikovsky, and the last chapter has the best description of why people are resistant to new ideas; it all comes down to fear. Fear of change, fear of disrupting the status quo, fear of realizing that our current safety is an illusion.
In Civil Engineering we know that every structure we build is going to fail, we just try to control when it fails; that nothing is permanent. Concepts like that are what scare people the most. They are not mad that we are tearing up the road to fix something, they just don't like the change in their day-to-day life.
Plasma Cosmology/Electric Universe, Growing Earth Theory, all are concepts that are scary as hell.
We need to get people comfortable with the lightning.
