Ida Rolf On Gravity and the Human Condition

What is a human being? What is life? Can science give us reliable answers to such questions? The electricity of life. The meaning of human consciousness. Are we alone? Are the traditional contests between science and religion still relevant? Does the word "spirit" still hold meaning today?

Ida Rolf On Gravity and the Human Condition

Post by junglelord » Tue Nov 10, 2009 7:25 pm

A true visionary, Ida Rolf is the person for whom the term Rolfing came about.
Structural Integration is what she termed the work which is manipulation of fascia, the connective tissue of the body and its role in gravity and posture. We now know the fascia is the organ of support and it has smooth muscle fibers, which allows it to contract and relax. It has pizeo electric and pryoelectric properties and is a liquid crystal. It is quite possible that consciouness and fascia are related via posture.
