Today in 1633

Has science taken a wrong turn? If so, what corrections are needed? Chronicles of scientific misbehavior. The role of heretic-pioneers and forbidden questions in the sciences. Is peer review working? The perverse "consensus of leading scientists." Good public relations versus good science.

Today in 1633, the Vatican forced Galileo to recant his claims that the sun was at the center of the Universe. 400 years later, the mainstream astronomical supporter contends that the religious ruling class are not the peers of today, and that making a peer review comparison is ludicrous.
