—Dr. Donald Scott, The Electric SkyThere have been many instances in the past when the astronomical community has long rejected an idea that they later are forced to accept. After being denigrated, if the validity of the new idea becomes inescapably evident, a few years go by and then we quietly hear: “Well, everyone has known for a long time that this (the new idea) was always true.”
Arthur Schopenhauer once said, “All truth passes through three stages: First, it is ridiculed; second, it is violently opposed; and third, it is accepted as self-evident.”
