Rest In Peace, Michael Steinbacher (1947-2015)
It is with great sadness that we say good bye to Michael Steinbacher, who posted on this forum as "starbiter", and had been a forum member since the beginning. He also participated in many EU conferences.
Michael passed away earlier today. Many members of this forum lost a friend.
His thread, "Are Mountains the Result of a Duning Process?" has been ongoing for over five years. He had some very original ideas and a passion for geology.
Michael was a talented professional photographer who often took to the road to record images of both people and geology. He was always recruiting those interested for one of his tours.
He will be missed.

It's so strange. Saw one of his posts not long ago. Rest in peace. Thanks for the great contributions to geology and EU theory.

How did he die? I had lunch with him earlier this year in LA. And he replied to one of my posts in a thread only about 2 weeks ago or less. What happened

I seem to recall Ben Davidson mentioning bone cancer.
It's all about perception.

-I didn't meet Michael in person, but still felt that I loved him. We "met" here in the TB forum.

Thanks Michael,
I was truly inspired by your efforts and theories...
Now I know why there hasn't been any more videos from you... stay safe and try to remember!
I hope we meet in the next round!
