An EU interpretation of the area of a "black hole" in a galaxy resolves most of these issues in my mind. As I mentioned in another thread, instead of being an area from which nothing can escape, it seems to me that a "black hole" is the area that which nothing can enter without being vaporized and flung into space via the galactic jets.

This is a good proposition fitting my claim, elsewhere on this forum, that a black hole is essentially an empty centroid, as in a basketball. It's "mass" is located there, but no "matter", especially supercondensed, is necessary.
Truth extends beyond the border of self-limiting science. Free discourse among opposing viewpoints draws the open-minded away from the darkness of inevitable bias and nearer to the light of universal reality.

Amen, webolife. e=mc^2. The amount of energy concentrated in the center of the galaxy may be equal a quadrillion suns or whatever fits their equation, but it does not have to be matter, and there's absolutely no reason to think it should be... except to fall in line with the theory of a gravity driven Universe. Because Gravity = Mass = Gravity, due to the ignorance of the origin and manifestation of the force. But whatever...

It would be well to have a definition of Mass before making it magical...

Black Hole Outflows From Centaurus A

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/20 ... 074617.htm
ScienceDaily (Jan. 30, 2009) — Astronomers have a new insight into the active galaxy Centaurus A (NGC 5128), as the jets and lobes emanating from the central black hole have been imaged at submillimetre wavelengths for the first time.
The new data, from the Atacama Pathfinder Experiment (APEX) telescope in Chile, which is operated by ESO, have been combined with visible and X-ray wavelengths to produce this striking new image
Image
In submillimetre light, we see not only the heat glow from the central dust disc, but also the emission from the central radio source and – for the first time in the submillimetre – the inner radio lobes north and south of the disc. Measurements of this emission, which occurs when fast-moving electrons spiral around the lines of a magnetic field, reveal that the material in the jet is travelling at approximately half the speed of light. In the X-ray emission, we see the jets emerging from the centre of Centaurus A and, to the lower right of the galaxy, the glow where the expanding lobe collides with the surrounding gas, creating a shockwave.
but nothing escapes the gravitationl attraction of a black hole

That sounds like electricity. Moving electrons and all that.

This fits the bill well. Sounds like a job interview for the church of cosmology.
