Re: UK meteorologist uses the Sun to predict the weather
* I haven't checked it out yet, but the info is very interesting. It would be something if all weather forecasters would do that.
* Well, I did check it out now, and I found a better website about his methods at http://www.weatheraction.com. His method is called the Solar-Lunar-Action-Technique (SLAT) of weather & climate forecasting.

Beat me to it. I was going to post his site too. He has a ton of videos on youtube too about his forecast too. Seems to me to be a practical successful application of EU theory.

Re: Electric Weather
Taking electricity out of the air, sounds good, but could this have
unpredictable consequences? What would happen to the weather if there
was no more lightning?

http://www.nanotechnology.org.in/hygroe ... -humid-air“This was clear evidence that water in the atmosphere can accumulate electrical charges and transfer them to other materials it comes into contact with,” Galembeck explained. “We are calling this ‘hygroelectricity’, meaning ‘humidity electricity’.”

Re: Electric Weather
The latest electric Weather forecast looks stormy, to say the least. More fear-mongering,
or the real 2012 deal?
Magnetic polar shifts causing massive global superstorms

http://www.helium.com/items/2083868-mag ... uperstormsNASA has been warning about it…scientific papers have been written about it…geologists have seen its traces in rock strata and ice core samples…
Now "it" is here: an unstoppable magnetic pole shift that has sped up and is causing life-threatening havoc with the world's weather.

Re: Electric Weather
Hey Matt EU . Glad to see the diagram included the mysterious Teluric currents. The bigger picture of "weather" should probably include tie ins with earthquakes, volcanoes and Tsunamis' .After all they are weather within the Earth? The Sun although the obvious cause of weather is also connected to the universe and of course Saturn and Jupiter. What controls what is of course the chicken and the Egg but thye must react to each other in what we see as chaotic ways but what makes perfect sense electromagnetism ?

Re: Electric Weather
Please ignore if it has already been discussed above - This video by Courtillot has just released on wattsupwiththat.com - besides from providing interesting perspectives on climate measuring/modeling issues, he also (briefly) describes the work of Tinsley (also mentioned in the 'Electric Clouds' thread)
(I believe one of the pictures is from this paper: http://www.utdallas.edu/physics/faculty ... ircuit.pdf)
The video is 30 minutes, the 'electric part' starting after 25 minutes. He describes the atmosphere below the ionosphere as a leaking capacitor affecting the micro physics of clouds - charged by differential between the ionosphere and earth - a charge differential which is correlating with solar cycles.

Re: Electric Weather
This is a video of the recent, very terrible, Tuscaloosa tornado.
http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/bestof ... .mayor.cnn
At about the 1:38 mark, and again at 2:07, will be seen an unusual white ball alongside the tornado. I would be appreciative if anyone could explain it to me. Perhaps it is a large cotton ball or white balloon being sucked down to the ground?
Respectfully submitted,
Dotini

Hello Dotini-
I am not sure what we are seeing in the vid you posted,
but in this vid, we see what looks like St. Elmo's Fire!

Re: Electric Weather
It looks to me more like simple electrical shorts from the power lines on both sides of the road that the tornado ripped through.mathew wrote:in this vid, we see what looks like St. Elmo's Fire!
The white orb zooming in from off camera in the clip Dotini posted, on the other hand, is most intriguing. Ball lightning would seem to be a likely candidate. It's too bad the scene cuts away right after it drops below the horizon line, though. I wonder if the raw footage showed where it eventually ended up.
It's all about perception.

Re: Electric Weather
Hi StevenJay-
I have no doubt that the power lines played a part,
here is a new link, the one posted above is already
removed.
http://abcnews.go.com/US/video/tornado- ... i-13479175
That said, those are rather large discharges. Here are two powerline
shorts for comparison.

Also notice that some flashes appear to be centered in/on the tornado column.
