Quantum Consciousness

What is a human being? What is life? Can science give us reliable answers to such questions? The electricity of life. The meaning of human consciousness. Are we alone? Are the traditional contests between science and religion still relevant? Does the word "spirit" still hold meaning today?

Quantum consciousness has been attributed to cytoskeletal microtubules and other structures within each of the brain's neurons,
but another mechanism may be at cause:

In calculations and simulations, the researchers showed that coherent Fröhlich condensates are very fragile and the coherence lasts a very short time - shorter than a single vibrational period. This finding agrees with the criticism of Orch OR that quantum coherence should decohere too quickly for it to have a significant impact on cognitive function. Also, the scientists showed that the formation of coherent Fröhlich condensates requires high energy and extremely high temperatures - up to 100 million Kelvin, which is not possible in any biological environment.

So...is it possible that there are military trained psi warriors among us??? It looks like that may be true! ; )

Retired Army Colonel John Alexander—once a Special Forces commander in Vietnam—knows differently. You see, he was once one of the key members of Stargate—a U.S. intelligence agency designed to prove that psychics could be more effective Cold War weapons than spy satellites or wire taps. The most unsettling part? He was right…

Dyslexics untie! errrr....uuhhhh....lol

More universtiy studies...

By the end, they were testing double blind, the researchers and students did not know the symbols on the cards, and they found the students could still recall the images. And that is science, establishing an experiment, refining controls and using statistical methods to analyze the results.
It implies there is another way to get data out there in the world and some people seem to have access to it. I don’t know if telepathy is necessarily the answer but some people seem to have access to another realm.
It's the ether...brahman....this was all revealed thousands of years ago....sanskrit.

From Ohio.... : )
Three years into the PhD program, he was given a book about Edgar Cayce, The Sleeping Prophet. This changed the course of his life! He was excited about the existence of a spiritual world and made immediate plans to attend the Ohio State University's College of Medicine where he earned his M.D. He completed his internship year in general surgery and his first year neurosurgical residency at Ohio State University. He completed the remaining four years of neurosurgical training at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Medicine, Miracles, and Manifestations reveals how metaphysical events such as remote viewing, telepathy, consciousness and life-after-death are verifiable manifestations of the manner in which the human brain interfaces with the universal consciousness that author Lynne McTaggart refers to as The Field.
Hey...The Field...a friend recommended it. ; )

And remote viewing...sounds like fun!

This is an article about a gravity theory that involves an added dimension...but
I think there may be a link to quantum consciousness here...

http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg2 ... tread.html
If right, the hunch has truly mind-boggling consequences. According to the theory, this variable gravity would be our first glimpse of spatial dimensions beyond our familiar three - dimensions infinitely large, but which remain forever closed off to us.

Even if we do get proof that other dimensions exist we would be a way away from ever entering them. Still, it would be a dumbfounding indication of how even the stuff we are made of deceives us in our perceptions of the universe.
Even the stuff we are made of deceives our perceptions of the universe....
Our biological machinery is of our observable dimensional space/material
and incapable of perceiving another dimension. How could we have an experience
of this other dimensional quality? The ancients knew. There is a way around
our biological limitations and that is what is described in the ancient sanskrit....
samadhi is the direct experience of this other dimensional component. imho : )

Skyfish,
How do, you OK?
That link is all assumption, how can they state as fact that gravity keeps our feet on the ground, and keeps the earth orbitting the sun?
Gravity will be a local consequence, not a force at all.

The quoted article is pure hogwash. Everything in it is build from pure speculation: that the CMBR comes from the Big Bang, that the Big Bang theory is viable, that string theory is viable....and that to describe the most mundane of all forces: gravity! Physics must be in a very sorry state if this is presented as something serious.
First, God decided he was lonely. Then it got out of hand. Now we have this mess called life...

Hello Kevin,
I am very well...and yourself?

There is experimental evidence...

http://arxiv.org/abs/0812.2244
We present a case that current observations may already indicate new gravitational physics on cosmological scales. The excess of power seen in the Lyman-alpha forest and small-scale CMB experiments, the anomalously large bulk flows seen both in peculiar velocity surveys and in kinetic SZ, and the higher ISW cross-correlation all indicate that structure may be more evolved than expected from LCDM.
A dimensional component would explain why gravitons have not been detected. It also reminds
me very much of the ancient sanskrit texts...and the experience of samadhi. Have you read the Upanishads?
One day we will have to accept the existence of dimension/s that we cannot directly observe. The
universe does not care what we expect it to be. The sanskrit texts give us very good descriptions of this
quality of the universe. We should not ignore their wisdom...they are a treasure. They should be scoured
for the priceless gems within. The universe is a medium with vibrations in it that we perceive as the
universe...we just cannot directly observe the medium....the ether.
