Hi all,
Wouldn't it be great to find out what it is really like inside the Sun?
Comet Lovejoy passed through the Sun...

We could crowd fund "Lovejoy 2", a space probe to go through the photosphere.
Not sure if it would take a Falcon Heavy or a Falcon 9. For a Falcon 9 it would be US$60 million plus the cost of building and testing the probe, so about 100,000 donors at $600 each.
The mission wouldn't be simple, eg if it had solar panels they'd need to be stowed or discarded...
Anyhow, the era of government-dominated interplanetary science is nearly over!
