The Bell Curve may not exist

What is a human being? What is life? Can science give us reliable answers to such questions? The electricity of life. The meaning of human consciousness. Are we alone? Are the traditional contests between science and religion still relevant? Does the word "spirit" still hold meaning today?

The Bell Curve may not exist

Most of us aren't average!
Herman Aguinis:
"We looked at researchers, we looked at entertainers, we looked at politicians, and we looked at collegiate as well as professional athletes," Aguinis said in an interview. "In each of these kinds of industries, we found that a small minority of superstar performers contribute a disproportionate amount of the output."
These superstars, moreover, accounted for much of the success of the group as a whole. The vast majority of the others in the group, Aguinis said, were actually performing below the mathematical average.
A guinis said the bell curve may describe human performance in the presence of some external constraint — such as an assembly line that moved at a certain speed.
Would this include an ideology?! Which could also motivate?! Or poor training, which could cripple a person for life?
"It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong."
"Doubt is not an agreeable condition, but certainty is an absurd one."
"Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities." Voltaire

Again I'd recommend the articles on humans/hominids/giants and prehistory at:

http://bearfabrique.org/History/index.htm

The basic reality I come to regarding human groups is that there were two main saltations of modern humans on the planet and the divide was along lines of culture and technology, and not anything you'd call race. Either of the two groups (Cro Magnons and Bible antediluvians) seems able to produce any color or feature you ever find in modern humans. I don't picture racists being happy with that finding but such is life....
