Declaration of Academic Freedom

Has science taken a wrong turn? If so, what corrections are needed? Chronicles of scientific misbehavior. The role of heretic-pioneers and forbidden questions in the sciences. Is peer review working? The perverse "consensus of leading scientists." Good public relations versus good science.

Declaration of Academic Freedom

I propose that the people here at thunderbolts look at this document. We need a constitution. It is provided by the website Progress in Physics.

As any free country has it's constitution and citizens, we should be considered parallel to this mode of thinking to secure the future of humanity.

I think it is highly appropriate.

If it is already noted on this website then so be it. We just need coherence and leadership, this document provides those ideals and what to look out for.

Why did Feyerabend walk out of lectures in the 60's ? Why is Popper's name promoted while Feyerabend's is barely mentioned, yet Feyerabend is Popper's equal in the history of the philosophy of science. Why will scientific constitutions be useless without corresponding changes in society ... a social revolution producing a true relativistic outlook that truly frees people who have been told that they are "free" ? What really enslaves scientific research ? A huge intellectual conceit that enslaves millions of minds ?
Exploration and discovery without honest investigation of "extraordinary" results leads to a Double Bind (Bateson, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_bind ) that creates loss of hope and depression. No more Double Binds !
