"Intentional" communal science

Has science taken a wrong turn? If so, what corrections are needed? Chronicles of scientific misbehavior. The role of heretic-pioneers and forbidden questions in the sciences. Is peer review working? The perverse "consensus of leading scientists." Good public relations versus good science.

"Intentional" communal science

Post by Ronmamita » Sat May 22, 2010 2:37 pm

I'm (retired) and considering communal (intentional community) living.
Couldn't this concept be applied in the scientific community?
Where families could live in a community among interdisciplinary researchers. I have retired but I have not stopped researching. If you consider retiring what kind of life would be tailored for you? With so much false ideas being taught to kids in approved text books for mandatory standardized exams, many children loose the "AWE" inspiring hands on discovery of life and education. As a parent, I would welcome an alternative.
If more "intentional" interdisciplinary associations spring up globally and meet or communicate on a regular basis then I think much of the bias would end, along with the compartmentalization.

Perhaps, more applied laboratory science and engineering (hands on) is needed as opposed to more theories and huge funding grants from institutions. "Intentional" Communal living and research should be considered, in my opinion. Consider and share your ideas.

LOVE & Peace
(GLOBALLY)
