Russian official wants to investigate U.S. moon landings

Has science taken a wrong turn? If so, what corrections are needed? Chronicles of scientific misbehavior. The role of heretic-pioneers and forbidden questions in the sciences. Is peer review working? The perverse "consensus of leading scientists." Good public relations versus good science.

Russian official wants to investigate U.S. moon landings

Unread post by Melusine » Wed Jun 17, 2015 8:56 pm

Just dropping this here because it is so... unusual :D

Washington Post article here.
"We are not contending that they did not fly [to the moon], and simply made a film about it. But all of these scientific — or perhaps cultural — artifacts are part of the legacy of humanity, and their disappearance without a trace is our common loss. An investigation will reveal what happened," Markin wrote.

An international investigation could help solve the mystery of the disappearance of film footage from the original moon landing in 1969, or explain where the nearly 400 kilograms of lunar rock reportedly obtained during several such missions between 1969 and 1972 have been spirited away to, Markin suggested.
Quote from The Moscow Times here.

Funny you mentioned that. The US gave some "lunar" rocks to the Netherlands. Turns out they were FAKE!
There are many other anomalies with the Apollo Space program.
Not the least of which is the missing 15,000 telemetry tapes of the actual flight. Gone !
Lunar Rover Battery could not function on the Moon given the operating environment.

Gus Grissom was killed in any apparent oxygen-saturated environment along with 2 others during initial Apollo testing.
Gus consistently referred to the LEM as a Lemon and bemoaned the sorry state of the space program.
Once stated: "How can we get to the Moon if we can't talk to each other from another building?"
Gus's son claims his father was murdered because of his skepticism about the program.

Sorry, but this thread is not going to deteriorate into a debate on whether or not the Moon missions were faked.
There are other places on the net where conspiracy discussions would be welcome. Not here.
