Re: Illuminating dark matter
It may seem immediately innapropriate, but I think a process much akin to invetion patent application might suffice in the arena.
However, it must of course fall back to having a funding source that is willing to 'look outside the box' as it were... :\

Why?However, it must of course fall back to having a funding source that is willing to 'look outside the box' as it were... :\
After all, there are plenty of highly successful volunteer organisations/projects/etc ...

The U.S. Patent Office (and presumably those of other countries) have database capabilities that are able to scan millions of patents for relevant information against already existent patents. Similar filtration of data submitted in relation to the current topic would not be much more difficult to achieve, with appropriate parameters set in their filter macros. How so?mharratsc wrote:

If you know of some that would be willing to take on some experiments with the stated aim of proving 'plasma cosmology' principles at work, it would be great if you could list some here! Then maybe we could pass the info along to folks whom could use the info. Why?However, it must of course fall back to having a funding source that is willing to 'look outside the box' as it were... :\

A much easier, cheaper, thing to do might be get a bunch of volunteers to take the computer simulation codes already available, for free, and tweak them, to see how well they can match the relevant astronomical observations (also available for free).mharratsc wrote:If you know of some that would be willing to take on some experiments with the stated aim of proving 'plasma cosmology' principles at work, it would be great if you could list some here! For example, Peratt's PIC code, the one he used to do the work which ended up as the two 1986 papers which seem to form the basis of quite a fair number of 'things quantitative' which many Thunderbolts Forum members write about.

That's actually a very cool idea. o.O
I wonder if Mr. Peratt has the keys for that software, or if it belongs to Los Alamos? Hmm...

Well, an appendix in his book contains the code itself (in Fortran, I think).I wonder if Mr. Peratt has the keys for that software, or if it belongs to Los Alamos? Hmm...
Further, TRISTAN (a code mentioned in one, perhaps both, 1986 paper(s)) is available for free, as a download, from some internet site (I think; I'd have to check to be sure), and SPLASH (the other one mentioned) may well be too.
Perhaps Siggy_G knows more?

Re: Illuminating dark matter
I stumbled across a bunch of conversion programs here
not sure if they'd be of any use, depending on the data set of course
