Could all this energy be part of what is causing all the Eruptions? ...

There is chatter about Merapi in Indonesia .. A 3X bigger magma chamber than Tambora?
A rough estimate indicates that there is three times more magma than what was ejected by the Indonesian volcano Tambora in 1815 – the biggest eruption in the last 10,000 years, which led to a cooling of the climate globally.

Is there some way to compare this to the Yellowstone Caldera?
I have not seen any of those really "pretty" images of the ground level rise for Yellowstone lately, either.
Anyone have a link? They are kinda shy on the web.

USGS's take:
http://www.volcano.si.edu/reports/usgs/index.cfm#merapi

Lots of Global Cooling with that much ash ... and it really throws ash!!
The You Tube Video of Today's Ash Throwing was astonishing.

Could "the all planets warming" be affecting volcano's this badly? ... like affecting Methane, but more severe?

My little thesis is that the Earth melts when the current goes up in those telluric pathways, just as the dielectric in a capacitor will liquefy when it is overloaded. An overloaded capacitor will liquefy on the inside and the expansion will pop the casing like a popcorn kernel in hot butter- spraying this hot goop all over your circuitboard. :P

I envision that this might be what occurs with volcanoes when the charge goes up in the solar circuit, and is a good case of two aspects of physics working together:

The Earth liquefies from the electrical current going through it at a shallow location under the crust, which builds up pressure. Thermodynamic pressure will push upwards, away from the Earth's core, because that is the path where there is least weight pushing down- it's the physical path of least resistance for liquids and gasses to move.

Once the 'magma' has made it to the surface, now the electrodynamic part takes over again, and the current now has a path of equalization with the atmosphere and beyond because of the liquid magma that is a better electrical conductor than the surrounding cooler rock.

Once the equalization with the Sun has been mostly accomplished, and the charge differential goes down and thus the current drops, the previously molten Earth will start to cool and things settle down again, awaiting the next big jump in current to light things off all over again.

I think it's a plausible idea, at any rate, and the physics are valid on a much smaller scale. :)

Thanks!

I had a thought about that huge circular artifact seen on the sun ... could that be a new current setting up to flow in the other direction? ... now that we have passed the "forces cancellation point" . "where the polar axis laid down upon the equatorial axis" ..

We are now in the southern forces area of the Galactic Center ... so could it be causing some of the lighter elements in the solar plasma to move in "the other" direction now? ... and could we not find some way to measure this?

When you stir the batter, and then quickly stir the other way .. you get such a ring.
I am suggesting the forces of the Southern side of the Galactic Bulge are stirring the sun in some similar way.

CME's induce electric currents in the Earth's plasma sphere

Scientists Unlock the Secrets of Exploding Plasma Clouds on the Sun

Twisted "ropes" of magnetic field lines erupt from the Sun and tangle
with the Earth's magnetic field.

CMEs are closely related to solar flares and, when they impinge on the Earth, can trigger spectacular auroral displays. They also induce strong electric currents in the Earth's plasma atmosphere (i.e., the magnetosphere and ionosphere), leading to outages in telecommunications and GPS systems and even the collapse of electric power grids if the disturbances are very severe.

A key problem organizers hope to solve is a gap--many gaps, actually---in storm coverage around our planet. When a big storm is underway, waves of ionization ripple through Earth’s upper atmosphere, electric currents flow through the topsoil, and the whole planet's magnetic field begins to shake.

"These are global phenomena," says Davila, "so we need to be able to monitor them all around the world."

Abstract: JT3.00001 : Physics of Solar Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs): Theory and Observation

http://meetings.aps.org/Meeting/DPP10/Event/130648

Coronal mass ejections (CMEs) represent acceleration of magnetized coronal structures to a few thousand km/s in tens of minutes. A recent succession of Sun-observing satellite missions together with a suite of instruments measuring solar wind (SW) plasmas at the L1 Lagrange point have dramatically improved our observational understanding of CME properties from the Sun to 1 AU. The traditional models, which envision releasing magnetic energy stored in the corona via reconnection (accomplished by specified and/or numerical dissipation in these models), have not produced quantitative agreement with the observed CME acceleration and propagation to 1 AU. In this talk, I will present a new concept that does not require reconnection and yields model CME dynamics in good quantitative agreement with data. The underlying magnetic structure is a flux rope, and the basic driving force is the toroidal Lorentz hoop force acting on a flux rope with two legs anchored in the Sun.

Two new installments of smug pipes coming your way (Ghandalf and Bilbo are in both!! -- If you remember the pre-fireworks pipes .. or were those post?)
...
The Hobbit has been given to (?) Wetta Studios (who made the Lord of the Rings trilogy) ... to be made into 2 new movies with a very wide support of all the movie industry.

It's own web site already:
http://the-hobbit-movie.com/

First heard of it here:
http://www.renderosity.com/news.php?vie ... i_month=12

Each in it's own time, you know, and mine is done.
However, I still want to learn about EU ... and there is some other new stuff about ...

Sorry to be so cranky but after 50 years of it, and no control, I am not about to do any more, period!!

new days .. new ways ... short time left ... might as well make it quality time.

The Hobbit .. or There and Back Again

Is really costing New Zealand a chunk of change!

Prime Minister Key said that there would be no bidding war for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit Movie, but Warner Bros. did get a sweeter deal out of all this brouhaha. New Zealand will offer up to $15 million in film incentives for both of The Hobbit Movies depending on how well they do at the box office, and they’re also offsetting $10 million of Warner Bros. marketing costs as part of a joint association with the studio. Basically, they want to keep New Zealand as a prime player in the film industry since Peter Jackson’s Lord Of The Rings trilogy put them on the map.

Warner Bros. also made sure to get another aspect in their favor to avoid any other union issues occurring on another film. Prime Minister Key also said that legislation would be introduced to make sure that would clarify the employment status of film actors. This type of legislation will pretty much make it much harder for unions to organize in the country.

I don't sweat the movie business, but Agri-business ... oh man, they need tending!

Now I am so off topic as to be totally ridiculous. From Solar Oddness to movies, and sweet deals; .. all because of an Emo which rubbed the ruffled feathers the wrong way ..... sorry admins.
