Hmm, alternately, Thornhill provides the following proposed explanations:

So, which is it? "Physics is wrong and needs to be rewritten?" "Physics is right, and they've just been using the wrong part," or rather not factoring in things that they should have? Or something in between? Chuck Einstein's relativity (Singularities like black holes were supposed to invalidate it, according to Einstein! Miller's aether drift experiments and even Michelson / Morely's may have shown a positive result if interpreted correctly, which would likely invalidate GR [or was it SR?], again according to Einstein!) AND correctly apply ALL tools at our disposal INCLUDING the frowned upon "e-word?"
