It's Electric, I don't care what fantasy nuclear gravity theory you have. The entire Universe is electrically charged and active. Deal with it. Plasma Science scales from 0 to not-0 and does not require religious constructs or magical properties.

Now also realize that "Magnetic forces pulled at the strands" is actually an Effect of the Plasma Electric Currents. The 'strands' are a Result of the Electric Field creating a Plasma environment which creates the Space Magnetic forces.
