Donations to Thunderbolts...

Post by davesmith_au » Fri Apr 10, 2009 7:53 am

Giday all, just a quick update on the Thunderbolts donations page.

Due to public enquiry, we have now included two more "Ongoing donations" buttons, one for US$25.00/month, and one for US$50.00/month. Whilst we started out modest, some people may want to donate more than the existing $5.00 or $10.00/month, so now they can. Please remember also that if you cannot commit to regular donations, you can make single donations of any amount of your choice.

Whilst many people ask "why don't you xxxxx?", not many have yet committed to regular donations to the site. These donations help to make things happen, and without your financial support little extra can be done. For example, recently Steve Smith drove many miles to another city to give a talk on EU to a Mensa group. Whilst Steve was happy to donate his time, the trip would not have been possible without the support of the Thunderboltsfund, which reimbursed him for travel expenses. The fund has been specifically set up with this sort of thing in mind, to help reimburse volunteers for out-of-pocket expenses.

So I implore anyone who thinks the work we're doing here is important, to seriously consider giving if they can. Your details are kept strictly confidential, and we have a secure environment set up to facilitate the transactions. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can still use Visa or Mastercard, or even post us a check if you wish.

Cheers, Dave Smith.
