There have been a lot of pictures with rings or symmetric objects that have been
identified by some scientists as "Gravitational Lensing".
In wikipedia there is a special page for it:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravitational_lens
There are 3 types:
1. crosses
2. arcs or rings
3. Both.
Ring and cross
But what are they really?
Certain "crosses" are clearly a result of Halton Arp's quasar system, where quasars originate from the centre of galaxies. In these cases the redshift caused by hot plasma gives the impression that the objects are far far away, while they are instead near the galaxy.
The rings and combination of rings and crosses seem more the result of supernovas.

This is a supernova
Don't they look like rings?
Yes there are almost the same.
Well, it seems to me that all "lensing rings" are misidentified remains of supernovas or star-clusters.
And all crosses are caused by plasma redshift.
The lensing evidence is nothing more than wishfull thinking.

Re: Supernovas instead of Lensing
Supernovae are not remains, they are all fresh Z-Pinches, a star is born, nothing explodes. Matter is drawn in. The rings or dots you see when you look down the barrel of the z-pinch, when you look at it from the side you see the hourglass shape.
1) Crosses could be plasma refraction or indeed really more objects at the same place....or indeed down the barrel of a z-pinch..but not sure.
2) That ring image is a ring galaxy, it could be A) a real galaxy or B) a solar system mistaken for a galaxy, it would again be down the barrel of the z-pinch/current filament. ( or C it could be an image artiact due to overcollection/exposure of light, since everything is moving in space, the light is not collected from 1 moment in time and thus it smears...?)

Daniel
