Life on Mars??? Hoagland thinks so

Beyond the boundaries of established science an avalanche of exotic ideas compete for our attention. Experts tell us that these ideas should not be permitted to take up the time of working scientists, and for the most part they are surely correct. But what about the gems in the rubble pile? By what ground-rules might we bring extraordinary new possibilities to light?

HOAGLAND PREDICTS IMMINENT NASA ANNOUNCEMENT

An interesting article at Hoagland's site seems fairly convincing that water has been found on Mars and apparently life too. The article is World-Class Astrobiologist Says "NASA's Hiding Current Life on Mars!" By Richard C. Hoagland and Mike Bara - http://www.enterprisemission.com/Chandr ... sation.htm. Here are a couple of highlights.

** A Phoenix lander chemistry instrument (called "TEGA") physically "tasted" this crucial Martian water -- leaving no doubt as to its presence....
- The TEGA in situ water measurements left no doubt: there is a vast amount of frozen water in the arctic latitudes on Mars ... right NOW.

** Miller's provisional identification of Martian day-length circadian rhythms, emanating from possible Martian micro-organsims living in the soil samples that Levin was analyzing within his Viking instrument ... on Mars ... was potentially historic ....
- It was for all these reasons that Hoagland announced before the Denver Libertarian Party National Nominating Convention, the evening Phoenix landed safely on the Red Planet (May 25th) that, "for political reasons" NASA would likely announce -- before the November, 2008 Elections -- that it had (finally!) "discovered life on Mars."
